The company is committed to reducing its Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions in line with the SBTi absolute reduction methodology, ensuring Doka’s climate goals are aligned with the Paris Agreement’s 1.5°C trajectory. By 2030, this means a minimum reduction of at least 42% in both Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions. Scope 3 emissions, which encompass all indirect emissions generated outside the company’s direct operations, must also see a reduction of 42%.

Over the years, Doka has already implemented significant measures to reduce emissions, such as increasing the use of renewable energy across its global operations. At its Austrian headquarters, Doka has transitioned to 100% renewable electricity, supported by the expansion of photovoltaic systems and a green energy switch. These initiatives are crucial to achieving the company’s long-term emission reduction goals, which are currently undergoing validation by the SBTi, but are just the beginning.
In addition, Doka’s rental model contributes significantly to the circular economy, which, alongside decarbonization, is another key pillar of the company’s sustainability strategy. By refurbishing its formwork after every use in dedicated service centers, Doka ensures that material and resource consumption is minimised, keeping products in circulation for extended periods. The company is also exploring the use of recycling, low-carbon materials in its formwork systems, further reducing the environmental impact of construction projects. With a strong focus on innovation and collaboration, Doka continuously partners with leading industry experts and organizations to promote sustainable practices, such as the use of intelligent heated formwork that facilitate the use of CO2-reduced concrete on construction sites.
Building on these efforts, Doka has also pioneered the calculation of the Product Carbon Footprint (PCF) for its portfolio of over 7,000 products. The company has been instrumental in initiating and co-developing the first industry-wide criteria for calculating the PCF of formwork and scaffolding, supporting evidence-based purchasing decisions.
