An excellent combination of work and family life

Satisfied employees offer tremendous potential! Doka does its bit to create happy families with Umdasch Nest. At our Amstetten site the little ones are well looked after in our company’s own crèche, including in the years before they are old enough for the kindergarten.

An addition to the family brings great joy. The happiness is even greater for our employees in Amstetten, because they have one less thing to worry about. Company employees enthusiastically welcomed the Umdasch Nest, which is a childcare facility for their small children situated close to company headquarters. With a usable area of 150 m2 the Umdasch Group offers all-day care for children aged between one and three from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. It is advisable to book a place in good time because they are in high demand. The 15 places in the crèche, which is run by the Lower Austria Hilfswerk, are greatly sought after.

Excellent food is also provided. Lunch and delicious snacks for both the parents and their children are freshly prepared in the company canteen. The “Nest” has everything that the small group needs for its well-being. Everything is perfect for a child’s happiness – a recreation room, a separate sleeping area, a child-friendly dining room including an integrated kitchen and the undivided attention of up to four trained nursery staff.

Kurt König

Kurt König | Vice President Human Resources

“The well-being of our employees is our top priority. This also means that young fathers and mothers know that their children are in the best hands during working hours. With the Umdasch Nest we have created a place where our little ones are happy and can grow up in a safe environment.”

Together we drive momentum

As part of the Umdasch Group, we at Doka aim to not only be economically successful, but also fulfill our ecological and social responsibilities as well as our responsibility as an employer. Therefore, we regularly set impulses within and outside our company and drive international initiatives that make our common working and living environment more sustainable.

It is clear from the way this popular crèche is constructed that sustainability is very important. A powerful system of solar panels for the building's own power supply, the use of district heating using biomass, rainwater harvesting and the use of ecological building materials that meet the latest environmental criteria for building houses. Thanks to these ambitious features, the Umdasch Nest is certified as a “GreenBuilding”, as its energy consumption is at least 25% below the highest permissible energy consumption targets nationally.

Let’s grow together – is the motto for the Umdasch Nest and everyone who finds a cosy place inside it. However, apart from this, plenty of other things are done to make the working atmosphere and personal further training as pleasant as possible for employees. Career opportunities in Austria and abroad, employee discounts, a pensions and benefits package, incentive payments, flexible working time and remote work, wherever possible, company events and subsidised meals are only some of these. Apart from Umdasch Nest, other benefits at the Amstetten site also include a shuttle service from and to the station and company health checks.

Sonja Aigner | Global Lead HR

“With over 2,000 employees working here at the Amstetten site, there is clearly demand for all-day childcare for the pre-kindergarten age group. “We want to offer young fathers and mothers, who go back to their job directly after maternity or paternity leave, child daycare that is also in close proximity to their place of work.”

Doka and Umdasch Group are committed to sustainable development.
This is why we subscribe to initiatives that are aligned with the United Nations’ “Sustainable Development Goals”.
