Customer Requirements
- High clearance for main traffic to ensure uninterrupted six-lane car movement.
Challenge
- Enable reinforcement of the Railroad side elements.
- Ensuring 4.8m clearance under the two middle bridge spans of 22 m and almost 20 m wide for truck traffic.
- Pouring the bridge deck about 35 cm above its final position before lowering.
Solution
- ParaTop with specially designed ParaTop-insert shoe to ensure distribution of the load on the steel structure during casting.
- Doka's engineering construction kit for heavy loads: a mix of Doka UniKit primary and secondary beams supported by an SL-1 structure.
- Doka UniKit primary & secondary beams, which have an extremely high load-capacity were pre-assembled horizontally and lifted up into the position of the main & extension girders.
Aftetal Bridge | Germany
Customer Requirements
- Efficient and safe construction for the 785 m long and wide-span composite bridge with piers up to 66 m high.
Challenge
- High level of complexity is introduced through its height, pier geometry, massive pier heads, and remarkable length and span.
Solution
- Automatic climbing formwork SKE100 plus was used for concreting the piers, and the SKE100 plus platforms could be reused for the pier heads and moved to the next pier without being dismantled.
- Two composite forming carriages ensured that the concrete of the roadway slab could be connected to the steel structure. The suspended finishing-work platform provided a high degree of safety.
- Forming the cantilevered parapets 2 Forming wagon TU were in action.
A1 Aurach bridge | Austria
Customer Requirements
- Weekly cycle to meet the tight construction schedule.
Challenge
- short length of the hammer heads makes it difficult to place the cantilever travellers.
- post-tensioning of the bridge tension cables, therefore reliable strength knowledge is required to carry out the post-tensioning safely.
Solution
- 5 piers up to 40 m high with Framed formwork Framax Xlife and Climbing formwork MF240 for significantly higher load.
- Interlocking cantilever forming travellers (fork solution) allow space-saving assembly and quick cantilevering without a lot of conversion work.
- Concremote sensors and mobile app for measuring the temperature and calculating the early compressive strength of the concrete structure.

- Construction of a 410-meter-long pre-stressed bridge over the existing highway interchange.
Challenge
- General concept for casting yard: Formwork, steel grid & reinforcement area.
- Cost-efficient formwork solutions reusable for both decks due to the various geometry.

- One-stop-shop supplier with first application of the Doka UniKit secondary beams including new hydraulic concept and reuseable tailor-made solution for the reinforcement area.
