Celleswald avalanche gallery

Austria

The Celleswald avalanche gallery, 207 metres in length, was built to improve the safety of traffic on the L348 road linking the towns of Pfunds and Spiss. The open-arch cross-sectional gallery with V-shaped supports in fair-faced concrete on the open, downhill side transitions directly from the existing "Annatunnel" road tunnel. Ample allowance for the formwork-striking cycles was made so that the Doka formwork traveller could deal with the tight radius of 50 m and the stiff longitudinal gradient.
